Sunday, Day 1 Le Somail
Guests are met at the meeting point in Narbonne** and transferred to Clair de Lune peacefully moored at the village of Le Somail. The crew welcomes you on board with a glass of chilled champagne and soft drinks on the sun deck. Time for a walk or bicycle ride around this pretty canal side village before your first dinner on board.
Monday, Day 2 Le Somail to Argens
This morning we cruise to Argens. During the cruise you can relax on the sun loungers or in the spa pool and enjoy the landscape. After lunch we drive to a local goat’s cheese farm at Combebelle, followed by an excursion to “Oulibo”, Occitan for olive. This cooperative olive oil press is a great opportunity to sample the famous Lucques olive before returning to the barge. Enjoy a game of boules before dinner on board.
Tuesday, Day 3 Argens to La Redorte
After breakfast, we cruise to La Redorte through four locks. Once moored we will enjoy lunch al fresco beneath the trees. This afternoon enjoy canoeing on the River Aude, great fun for the whole family. Return to the barge for dinner ashore.
Wednesday, Day 4 La Redorte to Marseillette
After breakfast, we cruise towards Marseillette, why not enjoy a walk or bicycle ride following the tow path to the lunchtime mooring. After lunch we visit Narbonne and “Freedom Space”, an aquatic centre with giant slides & pools, followed by a cultural visit to the 12th century cathedral in Narbonne giving a real insight into this important City and it’s Roman history. Return to the barge for dinner on board.
Thursday, Day 5 Marseillette to Villedubert
Cruise this morning to Villedubert. After lunch we drive to Cavayères. The lake and forest area of Cavayère is not just for taking a stroll, it is a health resort, amusement park, and a special place where you can relax with your family and enjoy children's games, water sports, sandy beaches, fishing, tree climbing and mini golf. Return to the barge for dinner on board.
Friday, Day 6 Villedubert to Carcassonne
This morning we cruise to our final destination and highlight of the week, Carcassonne. After lunch we visit this largest and most beautiful walled city of Europe. Dating back to the Gallo-Roman era, this is the most complete medieval fortified city in existence today with its 52 watchtowers, portcullis and extraordinary repertoire of defences, which resisted the many armies that tried to storm this glorious Camelot setting. Walk the ramparts, visit the Château Comtal and step-back in time. For the more adventurous, we include a visit to the Haunted House before returning to the barge and the Captain’s Farewell Dinner aboard.
Saturday, Day 7 Carcassonne
After breakfast, depart the barge by minibus and transfer to the drop-off point in Narbonne**.
