Barge design
The art of Barge design...
To design a hotel barge requires a sound understanding of the
requirements of our passengers, and this understanding must show itself
with every aspect of the finished product
From the capacity of the water tanks, to the output of the air conditioning units,
from the correct angle of the backrest on the fitted sofas to the ratio of sun deck area to the capacity of the Jacuzzi
We also take into consideration luggage space, window heights and
sizes, bed and mattress dimensions and the ratios between passenger
living area, cabin size and sundeck space
Every barge is different.
Scottish Highlander, one of our most recent creations, launched in
2000 was built to cope with the demands of the Scottish Highlands. Her striking interior is a balanced blend of traditional Highland
tartans, brass and hardwoods
La Belle Époque, arguably the finest inland cruising vessel afloat, is a powerful canal
and river cruiser, with marble tiled bathrooms, a sauna and fitness studio and Jacuzzi with a décor reminiscent of the 1890s
and the good old days. Today she is a comfortable and luxurious floating country hotel
The Magna Carta, new for the 2002 season is another prime example of well thought out design
and craftsmenship, her luxurious saloon and cabins are fitted to the highest standard, to ensure that your cruise on the
Royal river Thames in England is a memorable one
We spend months pouring over and refining the plans, considering the comments offered by our clients and generally
perfecting the drawings to give our craftsmen every opportunity to build a vessel of beauty and durability with passenger comfort
always the utmost priority
